If you’re looking for cherry blossom wedding inspo, you’ve definitely come to the right place! I was originally going to call this post “Cherry Blossom Bride”, but then I did some research, and discovered that the term was more relevant to mail order brides. I mean, I don’t know Cassandra on THAT level, but I’m pretty sure that isn’t her. See, you can learn stuff on my blog too – we’re not JUST pretty pictures! (Only mostly)
The cherry blossoms in the Vancouver area are stunning! The only problem is, people flock to them seemingly by the thousands. (Queen Elizabeth Park is worse than trying to shop at Costco on a weekend) So where does one find some beautiful cherry blossoms without herds of people? Well, in my case, a five minute walk behind my house. FYI, this is the exact reason I felt like an idiot for spending most of a nice Saturday location scouting. But hey, those are the breaks!
I’ve actually collaborated on several shoots over the years. She heads up a company called Out Of The Rain Events.
They’re a group of princesses that perform and children’s parties, community events, etc. I gotta say, Cassandra has a beautiful voice, and was happy to serenade any youngster that walked by while we were shooting!
And personally, I have a thing for photographing funky colored hair. When she told me that she currently has blue hair, and she was going to bring some other colored wigs with her…. SOLD!!
And now we add the flower crown. Isn’t it stunning?!
At this point, the light started changing drastically, so we switched locations, switched hair, and switched crowns. Gotta keep mixing up the looks!
