Venue: Fraser River Lodge in Agassiz (just a quick drive from Vancouver!)
Makeup: Lindsay Hart
I’ve known Lindsay and Dylan for well over ten years now, so it was about damn time he put a ring on her! And I knew this wedding was going to be a blast because there were going to be a LOT of professional wrestlers in the house. (That may have something to do with Lindsay and Dylan both being pro wrestlers, and two of the biggest names on the west coast scene??)
This was honestly one of THE most gorgeous weddings I have ever been too. For years I have wanted to photograph a wedding at the Fraser River Lodge in front of Mt. Cheam, and I guess you can see why. Put a gorgeous couple in front of a mountainscape, and hey, that’s my jam!
The bison were a pleasant surprise too. But we weren’t allowed to ride them. Le sigh!
One of the things about weddings that entertains me the most is the differences in the guys and the girls getting ready. There’s almost always pure chaos in the bride’s room, and everything always comes out absolutely beautiful in the end. The guys, on the other hand…. Well, they drink. And you know, do what guys drinking do.
My second shooter for the day, Tanja, was hanging with Lindsay and her crew. (Yes, every one of our photography packages include a second photographer for the day. And this is precisely why! Usually I’m with the guys, and my second photographer is with the girls.)
One of my favourite parts of the wedding day is the first look. And I always recommend my couple do this! Why? Well, I wrote an entire post about it that you can read HERE!
Ceremony time. Man what a perfect day!
A few shots of the bridal party! And a WICKED crew they were. Hell, two of them came all the way from Australia!
I was STOKED to shoot formal portraits! You know, pretty people in front of pretty things. 😉 Mountainscape with Mt. Cheam, bison, all the greenery, the river… You can see why I love shooting at the Fraser River Lodge, right? We actually only spent a few minutes shooting formals at this point, because I was expecting a killer sunset. So I asked Lindsay and Dylan if it would be cool if I dragged them out of the reception at some point for some sunset photos. All good!
And a killer reception, of course!
The entrances, cake cutting, dancing, dinner, were all awesome of course. Hell, even the speeches were entertaining. BUT THE DESSERTS!!!! I may or may not have blown my diet on some of these desserts….. #SorryNotSorry #NoRegrets
As promised, formals at sunset. Definitely worth the wait.
And then back into the lodge to party the night away!
