Stepping a bit outside of Yosemite National Park now to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias!
And damn, they’re not kidding when they use the word giant.
The hike into the grove itself was beautiful – nice and easy graded trail, cool views, and cool looking manzanita trees!
A HUGE storm ripped through here not too long ago, so the main trail to the Grizzly Giant was closed. But that’s ok, because we could still walk up the service road. The dropped us right off at the Bachelor and Three Graces.
Next up was the 3000 year old Grizzly Giant, which is the oldest tree in the grove.
And finally, the California Tunnel Tree, which is the only living sequoia tree with a tunnel in it!
