Back at Iron King in San Patricio today! Actually, we’ve been virtually every day, only taking stat holidays off because the gym was closed! But today, the owners wanted Mandy and Terry to sign the Wall of Fame! After West Coast Iron in Port Coquitlam, and Pumphouse in Chilliwack, this is Mandy’s THIRD wall!
I trained back, and need to gloat that I hit a PR on deadlifts – 405 for 2!
Then we went for a Moolatte. I have no idea what the ACTUAL name of this concoction is, but holy hell is it ever delicious. It was on a farm, and for a mere 20 pesos (that’s like $1.50 Canadian), you can get a killer drink. It’s coffee, chocolate, tequila, and milk. Milk that is STRAIGHT from the cow! I’m told many Mexican folk have one of these before work, much like you or I would have a typical morning coffee. Mexico wins on this one, EASILY.
Remember the epic storm from last night? Well here is the aftermath – this is the street that our house is on!
We walked to the market after this to explore and barter for some fun stuff. Mandy got a pretty sick henna tattoo.
Dinner time! I had been wanting to try the local mole, but didn’t see any anywhere. Terry took to Facebook to get recommendations, and we ended up going to Barra Galeria de Arte & Restaurant. Friends, this place is AMAZING! Let’s start with the garden – they have TURTLES! Plus the décor is just flat out cool.
The chicken mole itself was delicious.
Then as an after dinner treat, we got to roast marshmallows.
10/10 would eat here again!
