Morning workout at Iron King before we get too crazy for the day! Here’s a fun photo of Shawn and his new training partner Yess. Shoulder day for them, and LEG DAY for me. Hit a PR on squats at 365 for 2, so I was pretty stoked about that.
We ended up at a different market in Melaque today. We stumbled upon Eduardo Torres Chocolates, and we ended up buying one of every truffle. God DAMN these were good!
Today was gonna be something SUPER fun – we were going to La Manzanilla to see crocodiles! We drove to Cocodrilario Ejido La Manzanilla, and we could see them before we even set foot in the property. Damn things are HUGE!!
The rickety boardwalk with crocodiles right below you lead to a bit of an adventurous atmosphere. This is not for the faint of heart!
A cool little educational museum near the start
And then you walk the rickety boardwalk and take in the scenery
Eventually, you come to a little station where you can hold a young crocodile. Look how cute this guy is!
Then there was this one asshole crocodile in his own enclosure. We asked why this guy was in solitary confinement. According to the staff member we asked, this guy ate FOUR tourist dogs in one day. Just hid, waited, and BAM. So needless to say, this particular crocodile was not very good for tourism…
After we left, we were told that we could buy some fish parts, and feed them to the crocodiles. SOLD!! Just be careful not to get your hand bitten off………
Off to La Manzanilla beach next!
We found an awesome beachfront restaurant called Pedro’s for dinner. I had a DELICIOUS coconut crusted mango fish.
Then on our way back home, we stumbled upon a fun sight. Dozens upon dozens of horses, riding along the side of the highway, with their riders all enjoying some beer. So naturally we had to follow. Still have no clue what this was about, but it looked like fun!
