Morning dog walk to the lagoon! Found a cool looking abandoned building along the way.
Lots of cool looking flowers as well, which I wasn’t really expecting in this area. And a pretty cool looking insect. Anyone know WTF this is?
Mandy saw a pretty fun photo op
And now we’re off to spend the day at Grand Isla Navidad! It’s so close to Barra that you could probably swim it if you wanted to (but there’s a much easier option – the water taxi). We drove though, and the drive itself is a LOT further than you would expect. But it’s a gorgeous drive!
We arrived just in time for the brunch buffet. The VERY fresh fish was the definite highlight!
Spent the rest of the afternoon wandering their grounds, which are quite beautiful.
Even found a little waterfall!
Afterwards, we went to Coco Beach to play in the water a little bit.
Then up the hill to La Sirena Gordita for some VERY strong drinks!
On the way out, we found an abandoned hotel that was partially finished, so we went inside to have a look. Would have been a gorgeous hotel if they could have finished it!
Back into Barra de Navidad for another epic sunset on the beach, and then back home to chill for the night.
