Today is Kait and Curtis’ ninth wedding anniversary. NINTH!! Not sure where the time is going because this still feels so recent. But I figured a ninth wedding anniversary is a pretty good time to post this 2011 throwback!
You know what else is hard for me to believe? This is only the second wedding that I had ever photographed, and my first in Mexico. Even more than that, it was my first TIME in Mexico! But hey, who the hell is going to turn down the opportunity to photograph a wedding in the Mayan Riviera??
We were at the five star Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal in the Mayan Riviera for a week (well, probably longer. It was nine years ago, and you know what tequila does to your memory, right?)
Kait and her ladies (Mandy and Suzie) got all glammed up at the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal Spa and all three looked AMAZING. But let’s be honest, the artists had three pretty killer canvases to work with!
Now, let’s take a moment to appreciate the detail on this dress. It’s a Pnina Tornai original! We’ll talk more about that later in this post. 😉
Not QUITE as involved over in the guys’ room. Just a whole lot of alcohol and alcohol related shenanigans! (Hey, when in Mexico….)
Time to head out for the ceremony! Man, that Mexican sun is HOT in May. At noon. Glad I wasn’t the one who had to wear a full suit!
Bridal party formals on the beach! I have to chuckle a little bit as I reminisce on these photos. How 2011 are the jumping photos! I can almost hear LMFAO playing in the background. 😉
And after that, what else are you supposed to do at an all-inclusive resort? Hit one of the MANY resort bars for some beer, obviously!
Kait and Curtis had a backyard reception back home a few months later for everyone who couldn’t make the trip to the Mayan Riviera. They REALLY missed out obviously!
Oh right, I was going to tell you a little more about Kait’s Pnina Tornai gown! YES she went to New York, YES it’s from Kleinfeld’s, and YES it was on Say Yes To The Dress! Here are a few more photos.
Now remember, all this was way back in 2011!
I’ve actually gotten to photograph several other milestones for Kait and Curtis over the years. Let’s catch up a little bit.
Their son Jesse a month or so later!
Thanks to this crazy family for trusting me to document some of their biggest milestones. I love doing it, and can’t wait for whatever is next!
