Mt. Shasta (1/7)

Road Trip – Day 1

Wednesday Oct 9, 2019

As much as I hate having to be vague with you… I have to on this one!  But here’s what I CAN tell you.  My friend Mark had a project that he wanted my help on.  It would require visiting Yosemite National Park, Crater Lake National Park, Mt. Hood, and a few other cool spots.  All with my camera gear, obviously.  No need to ask me twice – let’s f’n GO!!

Today would be the longest drive of the trip – Abbotsford BC to Dunsmuir CA.  What can I tell you about the drive down interstate 5 except…. NOTHING!  Thank the Gods it’s OVER!

I guess there had to be one or two highlights SOMEWHERE….

Let us start in Eugene, OR.  A burrito bowl at Whole Foods, a trip to Voodoo Donuts, and a cross town hunt for an Oregon only rum called Redrum.

We did catch an awesome sunset at one of my favorite places, Mt. Shasta.

And from there, it was a quick drive to our destination, the Railroad Park Resort in Dunsmuir.  It was pitch black by the time we got there, but there was JUST enough time to drink some Redrum, some beer, and chill in the hot tub!
