Saturday Aug. 25, 2018: Oregon High Desert Hiking
Hiking day in the high desert!
But we can’t hike on an empty stomach, right? So it’s down to the Kah-Nee-Tah breakfast buffet.
And then into the hills! We ended up going up to the same hilltop that I went up the night before. It was cool to actually SEE where I was photographing! We spent several hours on the trails, and they were all gorgeous. Great variety of terrain, scenery, color, flora…. everything
The hike through the Oregon High Desert was awesome, but I was also really excited to hit the resort gym. I hadn’t done a proper workout in a full week. My gains were disappearing, damnit! But I got a good shoulder and bicep pump, and then it was time for dinner.
And trust me, I was looking VERY forward to dinner! They had a traditional salmon bake that I bought a ticket for. I had absolutely zero idea what to expect, I just knew that I’d be eating like a King! They baked the salmon outside over a fire, then we went inside to grub down on everything, and enjoy a traditional native dance show. Awesome experience all around!
Seriously. Oh my God, this dinner was amazing!
Afterwards, it was back to the gym to train LEGS. Can’t beat this view from the gym, I’m used to parking lots!
Kah-Nee-Tah Resort closed for good on September 5, 2018. Just ten days later. 🙁 Stoked that I got to visit JUST in time!
Sadly, we had to drive home the next day. It was a rainy day on the I-5 in Washington, so naturally, I have absolutely nothing to show. 😛 (Not like there’s a whole lot worth looking at anyway, damnit!
Thanks for following along on our little adventure – I’m sure we’ll be having more of these!!
