I have to show off these amazing photos featuring Amrita Singh Designs! Amrita contacted me on Instagram and asked if I’d be interested in doing a collaboration shoot with her, her husband, and one of her gorgeous summer wedding dresses. After seeing her work, the answer was an OBVIOUS yes! We kicked around some ideas, and we decided on a sunset shoot at the Blackie Spit area of Crescent Beach in South Surrey. Why there in particular? Because generally speaking, the sunsets there are UNREAL.
And there are few things I love more than a beautiful west coast sunset! The only problem was, it was windy and COLD! Oh right, it’s technically still winter in Vancouver. Sometimes, you just have to suffer a little bit for your craft!
This should go without saying, but I love, Love, LOVE photographing Indian fashion! The colours, the detail, the intricacy. It all blows my mind. I’ve got a ton of examples HERE for you to check out!
Now for the photos! Honestly, sunsets are challenging from a photography perspective because the light changes literally by the minute. So you have to make constant micro-adjustments as you go along, to ensure that not only is the light on the subjects perfect, but the ambient light that Mother Nature gives us is also captured perfectly.
It gets dark FAST sometimes!
Solo photos of the groom of course. Love the Gucci belt! (Completely unrelated, I bought my wife a very similar Gucci belt for Christman, because damnit, I’m a good husband!)
And our bride, Amrita? Flawless, right?!
When the sun is almost below the horizon, that’s when we can capture some REALLY dramatic images!
A couple EPIC bridal portraits with this sunset, of course. Seriously, this dress by Amrita Singh Designs photographs sooooo nicely, don’t you think?
