Ahhhhhh, a GORGEOUS morning at Crater Lake!
Cold AF morning, but the lodge was damn cozy. Closing day for the season!
Today was our drive to another of our favorite places in Oregon, Belknap Hot Springs. A couple important stops along the way though!
On the way out of Crater Lake National Park, a couple quick photos of rugged Mt. Thielsen.
Lunch at Bangers & Brews in Bend. They have some CRAZY shit on their menu. I had the Alaskan Reindeer!
Then I had a little grocery shopping to do. We hit the local Trader Joes, where I proceeded to completely clean them out of pumpkin salsa. Yeah, I’m a basic bitch, what of it?!
And then it was off to the Dee Wright Observatory, along Scenic Bikeway (yep, it’s bikeway now apparently, not byway) 242, aka Mackenzie Pass. F’n LOVE it here! Awesome views of the Central Oregon Cascades, and of course, always some cute Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels!
We then drove straight to Terwilliger Hot Springs, which had finally re-opened after a forest fire went through it. And man, the place sure looks different. 🙁 Still though, one of the most relaxing places around! (No photos of the springs themselves unfortunately – would have been pretty creepy for me to haul out my camera in a crowd of naked strangers!)
Finally, a quick drive to Belknap Hot Springs where we could chill and unwind. A couple Oregon craft beers, some time in the hot springs, and a peaceful nights sleep!
