(Part 2/9) Sept 22, 2019: First Class to Bozeman
I caught the weirdest pricing ever for my flight to Bozeman. It worked out cheaper for me to fly first class than economy. So who the hell would turn that down?!
My wife Mandy had me at the airport at a pretty gross hour (6am, ewwww) for my flight to SeaTac, where I’d transfer to Bozeman. And let me tell you, the first class experience is great. Leg room, free IPAs, but most importantly, I could cut to the very front of the TSA line!
The flight was smooth, the Bozeman airport was small, and the Uber to the hotel was quick, so I was unpacked and settled in in short order. I had about five hours before orientation with our guides and the rest of the crew, and there happened to be a good gym literally right across from the hotel. And bonus, with my room key, drop in at Fuel Fitness was only five bucks! Nice clean gym, good equipment, and friendly staff and members. Rocked out a solid shoulders and biceps workout, and then I was on my way!
Obviously I was hungry after training, so I set out on foot looking for some food. My first stop was The Candy Jar (yeah yeah, I know, not the best for my anabolic window), but I got sucked in by white chocolate huckleberry bark. What can ya do, right?! I stumbled across a Buffalo Wild Wings, which sounded pretty damn good. So I grubbed some wings, then headed back to the hotel for orientation. Oh, and more food.
I met my guides Ben and Joey (both super cool AF dudes), went over the plan for the week, destroyed a steak and some craft beer, then it was off to bed. Early morning tomorrow to photograph some wildlife!
